He was tall, dark, and handsome.
Just the way I like em (read in billy Madison’s cafeteria lady voice)
He makes my mornings worth getting up for, And the occasional afternoon feel exotic and new.
How did I survive without him before? I didn’t always have him in my life. In fact, I think at one time I was turned off by him. But one way or another he made his way into my life and now I can’t picture it without him.
It’s like he’s a drug for my heart and soul. I drink up every moment with him.
My daughter decided she was going to stay up until 3:30 this morning playing.
She came out of her room numerous times, and also thought it was necessary for her younger brother to be up with her, because what is the fun in being up at all hours of the night if you can’t drag your sibling into your exhaustion the next day?
I heard the dreaded click of the door and then “hi aiden!”
I went into his room and changed his diaper because the ever familiar aroma of poop filled the room.
He then asked,
“What are we going to do today mommy?”
It’s definitely not “today” yet buddy. It’s 12:30am
After explaining to him that it’s still night and “sissy” should not be in his room he started to cry, so I rocked him to try to get him back to sleep.
I then go to Brooklyn’s room and toys are scattered everywhere.
I threaten if she doesn’t go to bed she won’t get to use the “messy glitter” tomorrow that she has been dying to use. Because I’m awesome like that.
Numerous door clicks later, and me telling her to get back to bed, I finally get up and go in again at 3:30. She’s dressed head to toe in princess clothes, stuffies thrown everywhere, and her blood shot eyes looking up at me and telling me “sleep is boring”
What is happening.
Why doesn’t she understand sleep is the single most amazing part of the day.
I WISH my day ended at 7:30 everyday.
I WISH when I went to bed with a messy house, it would magically be clean when I woke in the morning.
I also wish that she would have slept in until at least noon.
None of these wishes will ever come true.
Cranky pants magoo came down the stairs, aiden sweetly said “I have cereal”
and she lost her mind and told him to be quiet because he’s annoying and started to cry.
It’s going to be a long day, but at least I’ll have my love right by my side. Today’s a “special” day. And he’ll be by my side all day, just cuz he knows I need him so.
